In early 2007, Verve Creative Events was invited to pitch for, and subsequently won, the job of managing the Australian Design Awards. That was the beginning of a truly collaborative and fruitful relationship. Over subsequent years, Verve Creative Events and the Design Awards team have developed a strategic partnership that has seen the profile and status of the event increase significantly year on year.
In the second year of Verve Creative Event’s involvement with the project, the award program underwent a significant transformation – becoming the Australian International Design Awards. From 2008 onwards, products designed anywhere in the world that are marketed in Australia are eligible to enter the Awards. This significantly widened the scope and complexity of the program.
In 2009, Verve Creative Events was also made responsible for the management of the exhibition component of the event – with over 120 products of all shapes and sizes on display as part of the event. In 2011, Verve Creative Events managed the entire program, including judging, transport logistics and the Award presentation attended by over 800 guests. Once again, the event was hailed as a huge success by all stakeholders. The result of this collaboration has seen the Australian International Design Awards become recognised as one of the world’s leading design awards programs.
Subsequently, Verve Creative Events facilitated a relationship between Good Design Australia and Destination NSW. As a result, The Good Design Awards has become an integral component of Sydney’s VIVID Festival. The most recent event saw an audience of over 1,300.
