The Australian Engineering Excellence Awards are the highlight of the engineering calendar and showcase the finest achievements that Australian engineering has to offer. Vervecreative successfully took over the management of this event in 2006 and changed the industry’s perception of this event from being dull, long and boring to succinct, entertaining and dynamic.

Prior to Verve Creative Events’ involvement in this project, the event was beginning to do damage to the overall Engineers Australia brand. Urgent action was required.

The first task was to create a new brand for the event. Working under the principal that “a brand is a promise”, our mission was to reinvigorate the event so that it would become the “not to miss occasion” – truly the pinnacle of Engineering Excellence. By developing a strategic marketing campaign and delivering a truly outstanding event, verve creative events delivered on that promise – so much so that in the second year of our involvement with this project, the event was a sell out with over 30 guests on a waiting list.

The strategic plan included the following elements:

Creation of a new “look”, which infused every element of the event – prior to, during and post the award ceremony

This translated into marketing collateral such as an interactive website that allowed guests to register and pay on line (a first for this event), an advertising campaign, PR and Direct Mail

Efficient management of all logistical aspects, particularly prior to the event, so that each and every stakeholder’s journey was seamless.

Management of sponsors so with the objective that their expectations were exceeded

Delivery of the best Australian Engineering Excellence Awards event in history!

A post event communication strategy to ensure that the momentum and energy of the night was carried forward into the future.

The introduction of a highlights video package that was available online the morning after the event (see www.vctv.com.au/EA08)

Our relationship with Engineers Australia has grown to incorporate not only event management projects, but video production and strategic marketing assignments.
