Verve Creative Events was commissioned by Genie Industries Australia, to develop, create and execute a customer appreciation evening to unveil the Genie SX-180 Self Propelled Boom Lift, the first of its kind in Australia.
A pivotal event in Genie’s overall customer engagement strategy, Verve Creative needed to deliver an event that WOWED.
The GENIUS (the idea):
Once the brief was received, Verve Creative came up with a variety of creative ideas and venues that would suit the purpose of Genie’s event and deliver them the desired WOW factor. After much deliberation it was decided the client appreciation evening should be held at the Gold Coast’s Metricon Stadium – a venue Verve Creative knew would provide guests with an once-in-a-lifetime experience.
To add an additional novelty surprise, Verve Creative organised to have the event, not in a conference room at the stadium, but right in the middle of the playing field; a very first for Metricon, who had previously never held an event on the sacred ground during the AFL season.
From there, Verve Creative designed, shaped, developed, managed and rolled out a comprehensive and creative event plan that received the highest commendation from the client, as well as from all of the suppliers involved.
From AV and lighting design through to video production, entertainment, fireworks and the development of a tantalising menu; sure to satisfy the taste buds, Verve Creative put together a winning combination of elements to deliver a truly successful night for Genie. The MAGIC (the execution):
How the night played out (sports pun intended):
Great secrecy surrounded the night, with very little of the evening’s agenda relayed to the guests. Transported by bus to the stadium, guests were taken on a “players” journey. Starting in one of the venue’s dressing rooms, guests were served drinks and canapés.
Once all guests had arrived, everyone was guided through one of the stadium’s vomitoria (the tunnels players run through to get onto the field), through to the field only to come face-to-face with an AFL banner (the banner players run through at the beginning of a game), branded in Genie’s corporate colours and logo. Once guests broke through the banner, dinner arrangements for the evening were revealed.
Following the reveal of Genie’s new self-propelled boom lift, guests were treated to a culinary delight, fireworks and entertainment acts that caused raucous laughter and filled the dance floor.

From concept through to delivery, Verve Creative developed and produced a truly outstanding and engaging evening that WOWED everyone who attended.
